Update in Pictures (Again)

This is my beautiful, multi-talented wife, making homemade bagels. In our house, "from scratch" means getting out her trusty grain mill and milling her own flour first. (Yes, she bakes bread and makes homemade noodles too, starting from the grain kernel...) She got this recipe from a friend of mine in China, and yes, they were YUMMY! "She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness." (Proverbs 31:27)Hungry yet? Would you like one with onions on top, oats, or brown sugar?
I don't do flowers "on the holiday." OK, so this year I made an exception for Valentine's Day. So shoot me...
I went through Charlotte on a recent business trip, and as my plane was taxi-ing to the runway I saw this plane. Its either the one the Squealers took to the Super Bowl, or their regular old team plane. I won't say anything mean here about the Squealers though. (Other than calling them Squealers, of course.)
I went to a strange restaurant while on the same business trip, where I got to (?) pet this alligator. He hissed at me, then snapped the head end of his body in my direction. Lets just say I was VERY thankful for that there electrical tape on his snout...
Last Sunday we went to the Columbus Art Museum as a family. It was mostly a special mother/daughter date for our little artist Ilona and her momma, but the rest of us tagged along and looked at stuff too.

Brave girl, letting her older brother work on her teeth like that...
Yes, Spring has finally Sprung in these here parts. Anybody hungry for some homemade grass stew, cooked in a green plastic bucket over an imaginary fire?
Rollerskates and Rollerblades. They can have 'em. Me, I'll take a normal pair of shoes. I always said, if God wanted us to have wheels on our feet, he would have given us wheels!
Caught in the act of "not hating each other." Actually, they're really good kids. This was just too spontaneous not to take a picture of.
The big bird we ate for dinner tonight, in all his naked glory!
This afternoon we went to the Ashland Symphony Orchestra with Grandma and Grandpa Hrubik after Jakob's last basketball game. It was nice to take a break from my busy life, close my eyes, and listen as they played. The local high school orchestra also played, and they were surprisingly VERY good as well! I guess they got straight 1's at State Contest last week. The high school director is currently Ilona's violin teacher, so maybe with his good influence she'll turn into a little concert violinist one day!

Ilona was totally THRILLED to meet the conductor after the concert and get her picture taken with him.
Well, that's about it for now. I'm gonna get busy on some homework here, now that the kiddos are in bed and its quiet in these here parts. Y'all have a good night's sleep now, ya hear?
